Motorola Droid Razr Maxx: A Sleek Android Based Phone

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx imbibed with developed Android ante is one of the latest releases from the brand. Though it is an Android based phone, Droid Razr Maxx appears to be a super slim handset embellished with many excellent and incredible features and applications. The mobile maker Motorola has loaded its latest handset with an energy-dense 3,300mAh battery. Assured to run for days, Maxx is expected to be the longest-lasting, most powerful smartphone even launched in to the market.

In the mobile market, Motorola has created a mark with its first Droid Razr claiming that it was the thinnest Android smartphone to be ever released in to the market. It started the craze for the thin phone among the users with its novel Razr V3. For Motorola, launch of Razr Maxx was an appropriate move, even if the Razr designed to have the trimmest body is always varying.

However, Motorola can’t make the same boast with the Droid Razr Maxx. Featuring dimension that measures 130.7 x 68.9 x 9 mm and weighing 5.1 ounces, the Maxx is slightly thicker and heavier than its predecessor. But yet the handset appears to be very slender and lightweight, regardless of its larger footprint. Despite its big size, the handset fit well into the pocket creating an embarrassing swelling. Here, it is worth mentioning that people with small hands will have trouble carrying the big-screened device in their hands.

Motorola has maintained its improvement in to the phone giving it a chassis built from diamond-cut aluminum. The device has also been fitted with the thin sheet of glass in front designed to fit flush against the phone’s edges. Similar to the primary Razr, Motorola coated the back of Maxx in Kevlar, which, while being smooth and soft, also meant that the battery is not removable. The Razr Maxx features a more powerful 3,300mAh battery as compared to the Droid Razr’s 1,780mAh battery pack.

The Maxx exhibits a beautiful and large Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen measuring 4.3 inches that has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The display unit of the phone is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is an Android based handset running on the operating system of 2.3.5 Gingerbread which is similar to is predecessor Droid Razr. However, Maxx comes with a more delicate edition of Motoblur. The handset also features five home screens to choose from, offering more shortcuts to the applications like phone dialer, messaging, camera, and the main menu running along the bottom. All these home screens are customizable. Users can view all the home screens at a single time by clicking the Home button in the standby mode.

Offering majority of Android applications, Maxx also offers various basic features including a few surprises, such as GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and a mobile hot-spot capability that lets the phone act as a modem for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices. The common Google applications and services like Gmail, Google Talk, Google Search with Voice, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Books, Places, Latitude, and YouTube are also loaded in to the phone. Other important features incorporated in to the handset include a calendar, alarm clock, calculator, a file manager, task list, voice command support, and speakerphone.

Currently, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx is being offered by almost all the major mobile network operators through various lucrative mobile phone deals. These phone deals help users to purchase the handset at a cut down price along with various alluring free gifts and services.
